Animal (Are You a Proper Person?)

by Chris Redmond, Anna Freeman and The Tongue Fu Band.

Animal is a new spoken-word musical comedy written by Anna Freeman and Chris Redmond with live music from The Tongue Fu Band. Awkward stories of adolescence, drum lessons, imaginary sit-coms and one-night stands, all feature in a rambunctious show about learning to live with the choices we make and the music we listen to. It combines storytelling, comedy, music, audience participation and elements of cabaret.

Chris is the creator and host of Tongue Fu – one of the UK’s leading spoken word and music shows, with recent gigs including London Wonderground, The Barbican, Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room, Edinburgh Festival, Glastonbury, Latitude and Bestival.

There’s a moment in any good gig when the drummer is allowed to let loose on the kit. We call that moment ‘letting the pig out’ and if it’s good…it can lift everyone in that room, put a bit of fire in their bellies. We’re hunting those moments in all areas of life.
